t is hard to say what it is about the vinyl to make the technology that was thought to disappear some twenty years ago still very much alive. HOW THE KSS GAINED ITS POLISH The 93rd meeting of the Krakow Sonic Society has been arranged at the request of wykop.pl and related web portals. This report from the meeting is intended for people who like to think and act. Capella Cracoviensis, or the “absolute sound” apella Cracoviensis is one of the most distinguished orchestras on the Krakow music scene. It was founded in 1970, three years before I was born, by Stanisław Gałoński who was its conductor and musical director until 2008. Although he was successful for many years, in the end he lost its identity and began a gradual descent into the hell of mediocrity. I perfectly remember the controversies, pickets, petitions and demonstrations of civil disobedience, when on November 1st, 2008, Jan Tomasz Adamus became the new director of this institution. The title of the Facebook page created back then really shows people’s mood: “Save Capella Cracoviensis”, whose aim was to remove the new director. To this day it was liked by 273 people. Hello Wojciech, My name is John Zurek, I am a reviewer for Positive Feedback. I am a Polish-American (all four of my Grandparents came from Poland) who has never been to Poland. I will be in Europe on business in October, and after that is complete I hope to also visit Warsaw and Lodz. I know you live in Krakow, but I was wondering if you may know any Polish audiophiles in these cities that I may be able to meet while in the country. My time in Warsaw will just for fun and sight-seeing. Lodz will be different. When my father passed I recently discovered documents that lead me to believe I may have some relatives in Lodz. I will try to find them. Any recommendations you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
