Julian Soja, owner and designer of Soyaton, a member of the Krakow Sonic Society, has just become an owner of a top-of-the-line turntable from J.Sikora, the Reference model. So we met to listen to what it has changed in his system. And for the meeting we invited Mr. Janusz and Mr. Robert Sikora, responsible for - respectively - designs and company management.

Published: 1. August 2012, No. 99 Future is a strange thing. On one hand it's, at least to some point, predictable, on the other it surprises us a lot. You can try to foresee it by analyzing trends, patterns, relations basing on historical records, but to do it right you need to be creative, you need to think out-of-the-box. Because no matter how probable scenario you create, lots of what really happens is simply beyond our imagination. When reading science-fiction novels written in the 80s of 20th century, you can see that than writers expected us to be exploring the space by now, that we would be traveling at least to the nearest stars. But it did not happen. Human kind focused rather on what's beneath their feet, rather than what's above their heads. On the other hand when reading those novels one has to smile once in a while when reading about sending letters (paper letter in envelope) to space station ...

Holger Fromme and his Avantgarde Acoustic XA Series

This was not a classic meeting of the Krakow Sonic Society. Although we did something like that once or twice before, these couple times versus over eighty meetings in total is not much. This time we did not compare anything, did not have listening sessions, did not plug anything in or out, etc. It was only about getting acquainted with a new, incredibly interesting product, the new, split amplifier Avantgarde Acoustic XA Series. And it was presented by no other than the owner of the company himself, Mr. Holger Fromme. Srajan Ebaen („6moons.com”) and Acoustic Revive RD-3+RIO-5II

WHAT WILL REMAIN AFTER OUR CIVILIZATION? It doesn't happen often, but obviously sometimes it does – by mistake I deleted all photos I took during our meeting with Srajan. For two days I fought with my computer to recover at least some of them and I failed. Damn it! So I called Jarek Waszczyszyn, who in fact invited our guest from Switzerland, but I got nothing from him – he simply did not take any pictures at all. To be perfectly clear – nobody except for me took any photos during this CSS meeting – so there was nothing left after Srajan's departure except for our memories and some notes on piece of paper. Yeah, the piece of paper with a table filled in with all participants notes on what they liked and what they didn't when listening to different versions ...
